MY RECENT HOME RENOVATION

I recently renovated my new home and I wanted to share my experience with you! I have been a homeowner for 13 years and being in real estate, its hard not to always be on the lookout for a new opportunity. I love a good project and when this house came up, the neighbourhood & layout was perfect but needed to be updated aesthetically. The challenge was too exciting to pass up.

Check out the before pictures!

Going through this process I can absolutely empathize with my clients on the roller coaster of emotions associated with buying and selling a home. When we purchased this home, I had to sell the home I had lived in for over 10 years. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it! Seeing it all come together was by far the best part! It was a top to bottom renovation and at times it was hard to visualize the end product and there was definitely some second guessing on design choices.

I absolutely love this kitchen - we spend a ton of time in it! The huge window, classic mouldings and centre island were everything I could've hoped for. I also love organization and the walk-in pantry is a dream when it comes to storage! On any given day, I can be found here making my favourite dish- chicken parmesan with caesar salad! I love to try new recipes as well.

Most of my decor items were found at Home Sense- hands down my favourite place to shop! When I don't want to leave my couch or am looking for something fairly specific, I can be found browsing Wayfair. I am obsessed with the gorgeous colour Light French Grey by Dulux. So much so that we painted the entire house with it!

I typically start my day working from my home office, ALWAYS with a coffee in hand! I then head out to appointments or The Royal LePage office.

Though challenging at times, I wouldn’t change a thing about this experience. I hired really amazing trades and I think thats what made all the difference. I heavily relied on their expertise and advice along the way, all while staying true to my design style and vision. If you’re looking for something very specific but can’t seem to find exactly what you’re looking for, I highly recommend the idea of looking for homes that require some renovation. I would love to help you with that!.

That is the extent of my renovation so far! The next project on my list is the backyard. The timeline of our possession date provided no time for landscaping. Come summer time, my goal is to make an outdoor space that can be an extension of my home.
